The Yarn Social Summer Vacation is coming to an end, and I’m stuck on the side of the road hitchhiking somewhere… Did I bite off more than I could chew with the biggest road trip? I did. Am I sad or regretful of that? I am not. It wouldn’t have been any fun for me if it wasn’t a reach, but it seems I underestimated just how out of shape I am!
Here’s where I’m ending on all of my goals:
- New York City, NY – Gauge experiments. I did this and actually quite enjoyed it! Am I turning into someone who likes to swatch?…
- Bald Eagle State Forrest – Use a local yarn. Started, but not finished…
- Cleveland, OH – Monster Mash of patterns. and-
- Cedar Point, OH – Make a gift. Started, but not finished…
- Chicago, IL – Hat. and-
- Des Moines, IA – Two yarns held together. These were those lovely Magpie Fiber hats I made for Mom and Erin.
- Lincoln, NE – Use a new-to-me yarn. and-
- Denver, CO – Homey thing, Also started, but not finished…
- Arches National Park, UT – Shawl. and-
- Salt Lake City, UT – Project inspired by trip. The Utah shawl was not even cast on…
- Lamoille Canyon, NV – Socks. I did work quite a bit on my Olympics socks!
- Reno, NV – Finish oldest WIP. But I did not touch the sunflower socks…
- Lake Tahoe, NV – Write my own pattern. …
- Sacramento, CA – Attend a social hour. I never did make it over for a social hour…
- San Francisco, CA – Take gorgeous FO photos. I got the FO photo with Erin and Mom. They’re the only finished objects I’ve had in a long time.
I’m still so happy I got to participate in any small way. The Roadside Attractions have been fun and creative. It’s been so great to see what everyone was working on. I got the comradery I wanted out of this, just not the reward points. And that’s okay!!
Looking forward to the next yarny challenge, as always.
