Camp Loopy: July

I did a lot better with Camp Loopy this month than last.

I comfortably finished a few days before the deadline and had a blocked, pretty photo to turn in for this month’s challenge.

Here it is: my Drive-In Movie shawl. I picked the Botany lab for July, since my colors were Birch and Sumac. I wouldn’t have put these colors together without that theme, and I think they look stunning together. That’s always the fun part of camp!

My August project is going to be the Barrey Hiking Vest, since I’m still riding that steek high from my swatch. This time, I’m in the Earth Sciences lab, since I could fit it into Geology. I wasn’t able to do a midnight cast-on, since I had to help a friend move at the crack of dawn. I did get it cast on in the car on the way there, though.

Good progress was made over the weekend. Admittedly, I’m stressing this a bit already. It’s a huge project (on purpose. The requirement is 800 yards), and I’m still trying to get some projects finished before Yarn Social Bingo ends this month. We’ll see how it goes!
