Practical Magic at Yarn Social

It’s time once again for Yarn Social‘s summer craft challenge!

While I always have a good time, the one thing I can say of all the previous summer challenges is I have never actually completed one. Most summers just get so packed, and part of me considered not even signing up this year because life has already been a bit of a struggle lately.

That is until Yarn Social read my mind with this year’s challenge: Practical Magic. No prompts, no yardage requirements. You just have to do your craft(s) and track what days you do them. Their site explains it better than I could:

“In the past, our summer games have focused on the external (and, one could say, competitive) aspects of making time for fiber arts; this year, we hope to turn that focus inward by making time in your day-to-day life to work with fiber. Practical Magic is about following your heart, listening to your body, and building a practice that is sustainable and joyous.

And of course, there will be weekly optional Lunar Phase challenges to foster the community, which is always my favorite part. The challenge starts on Thursday, so I hope you will join me in participating!

  1. Thanks for posting this today Emma. I just spent the last several hours going through 2 tubs of yarn and half finished projects. I am very overwhelmed. I decided to pull out a variety of projects that have patterns with yarn and some I shopped in my stash. I hope to get these all finished during the summer.
