Get into the Madness

In case you didn’t know this about me already, I’m a hardcore Jayhawk (Rock Chalk). I graduated from KU, my dad graduated from KU. College basketball is sacred thing, and was the whole time I was growing up. Now March is upon us, that most unproductive time of year where at least half of my attention goes to any and all games. It’s the best basketball of the season! I know I’m not alone in this.

I also know that most collegiate sports fans are superstitious folk. My whole life I’ve had a “tournament shirt,” that will be worn whenever the ‘Hawks play, lest I jinx their streak. I still blame myself for their 2012 Championship loss when I chose to watch the game at a different venue with better access to Mass street, and for the last few years, I’ve had a lucky tournament project. I know I’m not alone there either!

So I decided that we knitter’s and crocheters should get together, for the love of the craft and the game, to start a lucky project! Come cheer on your team, whoever it is! We’re having it at the Studio, and we’ll have a game on their projector screen and yummy snacks. Our suggested projects are the Pātiki cowl by Aroha Knits and the Snow Drops Reversible Cowl by moogly. They’re both two color projects, so you can rock your school colors during the tournament!

Our party is the first night of the tournament, this Thursday, March 21, at 6 p.m. It does cost $10, that covers the snacks and project help, should you need it! It’s going to be such a fun night, I hope you will join us! We are asking that you sign up so we’ll have enough food, you can call The Studio at 816-531-4466 or online here.
