I had another wonderful weekend of dancing in Minneapolis, Minnesota this past weekend, and I once again took some time away from the dance floor to check out a much-anticipated local yarn shop!
I first met StevenBe over a decade ago at the National Knit and Crochet show, that also happened to be in Minneapolis. It was my first national yarn event, and he really stood out. He had knit a sweater from old 35mm film he found in the basement of a firehouse that he was converting into a yarn shop. Fast-forward to this year, I finally got to visit said yarn shop!
I knew it would have a fabulous local selection based on his show stock, but I was not prepared. The store is huge, two floors chalk full of wonderful fibers. Their local knit group was meeting while I was there, too, and they were all super sweet. Scattered around the store are samples upon samples of all kinds of crafts. The designs were unique and looked super fun to make.
One unexpected delight, the back of the first floor is all mini skeins. It even had a sign calling it “the store of 1,000 minis.” You know I had to pick up one for Mom. Upstairs was a lovely sale section where I found a couple of skeins to come home with me.

I didn’t get to spend as much time at the shop as I would have liked (had to get back to practice my swingouts!), but it was a wonderful stop! I would highly recommend it if you find yourself in Minneapolis.

Emma: glad to here about Mpls. Thanks for sharing 🙂 I was an electrician there for 20 yrs before taking my journeyman trade all around the country for another 30 yrs ❗️ BTW I had a journeyman electrician license before I graduated from Anoka, MN high school in 1972 😉 ~Willy
