IKEA Tromma Clock

Yarn Social made me do it…

Which stands to reason that some peer pressure can be a good thing!

This was the first place I saw the Tromma clock from one of my all-time favorite places: IKEA (your girl loves meatballs and clever storage!). This $3 ($3!! I love IKEA) clock has holes punched in it, which are designed with the intent to put colorful paper behind it to make the clock your own. However, those holes are the perfect size for a standard yarn needle, and so perfect for a little yarn embroidery!

Yarn Social’s clock was made with Hedgehog Fibres Fool’s Gold, and it looks fabulous. I just happened to be working with a one-of-a-kind potluck color from Hedgehog, and since I loved the clock so much in the shop, I knew a few scraps of it would be perfect.

Stitched Tromma Clock

And I was right!! I back-stitched this guy in less than half and hour (and ten minutes of that was user error trying to figure out how to get the clear, plastic cover off). I’ve dreamed of a crafty clock to have in my studio for ages, and now I know I was just waiting for this one!

So, if you have a scrap amount of a super special yarn that you want to look at all day long, get yourself a Tromma clock!
